I want to praise the ambition of Haught's poem 'Oklahoma'. There seems to be a kind of collective amnesia, or preferred apathy, Oklahomans have toward their state's dubious past. Perhaps because poems have so little market value they have the power to look at things straight. Haught's poem certainly does.
